My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
I have been volunteering with LWB for the last year as a nurse consultant. I have witnessed what Love Without Boundaries and can and does accomplish in the lives of these precious children. It is a wonderment to see how the children thrive with loving care and surgical intervention. I also have 6 Chinese nieces and nephews and I am running for them and for the children in China!

I'm participating on behalf of Lan. Lan is a lovely little girl from the Fengze orphanage in Fujian Province. Sweet Lan was born in December of 2008, and she has been through two of three surgeries needed to repair an intestinal blockage. Lan was also born with Down's Syndrome and she has difficulty feeding, so she is now residing in LWB's Heartbridge Healing Unit for some extra TLC and high-calorie formula before her final surgery. She will remain there for several months after surgery to recover.
