I live in Ireland with my husband, 3 children and 2 dogs (well one is not sure as she is SO old, and the other is a puppy) I have volunteered in LWB since 2004. In that time I have worked in various positions - Loudi Foster Care, member of the Board, Henan Cleft Home Coordinator and currently as the Director of Healing Homes. I LOVE China and the children in our LWB programs have a special place in my heart.
My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
To continue to help fragile children born with cleft lip/palate know the nurturing care of loving arms. I have witnessed and felt the joy of this care in our Henan Home since it opened 1 year ago. To date I have seen: 12 Graduates pass through our doors. 20 children helped to date (14 male & 6 female) - 19 hail from Henan 15 successful lip surgeries Worked with 1 home manager - our wonderful Stephanie 1 Head Nanny & 6 Nannies 1 auxiliary nanny for Hospital days 2 volunteer Doctors who drop by regularly :-) 1 additional House Mom who volunteers in all duties including buying groceries and cooking!
