Everyone who knows me know I CANNOT let my hair grow! If it even begins to show a wave I am straight down to the barbers for a #3 cut. Even the little piece I do let grow has to be kept straight. You would not believe the amount of hair product I use! Well with a New Year and a New Decade looming they were asking me if I would ever grow my hair, under what circumstances?!?! Laughing I suggested this mad idea and they challenged me to it! So here I am with operation "Hair today ... because they're worth it!"
I know I will find this so hard, my hair doesn't grow down it grows out!!! Then I think of the babies and say this hair raising event is worth it!
My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
I have been part of LWB since 04 when I made my first visit to China. There I helped install a playroom and PT room. I also saw the beginnings of Loudi Foster Care program. My second trip 2 years later brought me in contact with even more babies born with cleft lip/palate. Holding a tiny very fragile baby and wanting to run to find it that extra one-to-one care is a gut wrenching feeling. I am so glad there are Cleft Healing Homes now!!!
