My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
I RUN BECAUSE I LOVE!
Love Without Boundaries (LWB) began in the year 2003 and touches the lives of thousands of children today through foster care, medical, education, and nutrition programs.
LWB provides the most loving and compassionate help possible to orphaned and impoverished children in China, and shows the world that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves to experience love and be treated with dignity and care.
I will be running in the Marine Corps Marathon Healthy Kids Fun Run on October 24, 2009, to help raise money for LWB. I have committed to run 25.2 miles on my own prior to this date. My final mile of the "marathon" will be ran with TeamLWB for a total of 26.2 miles.
More specifically, I am running in memory of Baby Janice. Janice died suddenly from a possible heart defect before she could even be brought to Hearbridge Healing Unit. I am running in memory of her short life and in hopes that another baby won't die needlessly. Thank you!

I'm participating on behalf of Janice. Tiny Janice was born with several strikes against her: she has a cleft lip and palate, and also a severely clubbed left foot. Tragically, Janice passed away while we were in the process of raising funds to move her from Qidong, Hunan to our Heartbridge Unit in Beijing. Macey would like to continue to raise funds in Janice's memory.
