Benjamin Glass

Welcome to my website

I am a "young" 51 year old father of 7 (two adopted from China) with two on the way (again, from China) who ran my first marathon two years ago. I'm very appreciative of the work my wife, Sandi, does for the children in China, through Love Without Boundaries. I can tell you from personal observation that there are very few charitable organizations that can match Love Without Boundaries in terms of their true committment to the children. Amy Eldridge and her world wide volunteers get more done in a day then most CEO's of Fortune 500 countries do all year. They are focussed, committed and driven. I'm very happy to again train and try to beat my PR of 4:28. All I can say to anyone who is thinking about running is "if this old guy can do it, so can you."

My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year

I'm running because it's a great event, not much beats the feeling of finishing a 26.2 mile race - except maybe helping a few more children at the same time.

I'm participating on behalf of Livia. Livia came to the Anhui Cleft Healing Home from Fujian province in March 2009. She was born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate. At 6 months of age, Livia weighs just a little more than 7 pounds. Even though Livia is tiny, she ismaking great progress with the special attention she receives at ACHH. She is becoming more active, likes to smile and be around people and has a spunky personality which has made her a fighter from the beginning.
