Caitlin Glass
Welcome to my website
I just finished my first year of seminary at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA, and am spending the summer as a chaplain at York Hospital in York, PA. My family has two children adopted from China, and will welcome two more children home from China this fall (probably after the marathon). Together with my mom, I do some volunteer work with LWB (she does much more than I do), and hope to visit China again sometime soon!
My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
This will be my third Marine Corps Marathon, and my second with Team LWB. I had the opportunity to travel to China in March 2008, and witnessed first hand the life-saving care and loving comfort that LWB shares, every day, with some of God's smallest and most vulnerable children. I am running with Team LWB again this year in order to give even more children the gift of hope--hope for health, hope for love, hope for life. I hope you'll join me in supporting this important and worthwhile cause.
Fund-Raising
Goal: $1500.00
To date: $1330.00
I'm participating on behalf of Neil. Neil is from Xiaoxian. He was born in January 2009 with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, in addition to a small heart defect. Prior to his arrival in March at our Anhui Cleft Healing Home, Neil was very weak, tiny and receiving medication for pneumonia. At ACHH he will receive the special attention of our nannies to regain his health and the strength and weight necessary to receive his life changing cleft lip surgery. Neil is quickly gaining weight and is described as a very quiet boy, who is calm, peaceful and very smart-looking.
