Welcome to my website
3 years ago marked 2 significant decisions in my life. The most important was that Dina and I decided to adopt a child from China. Second, I set a personal goal for myself to qualify for the Boston Marathon. As you all know, Shi Lu Rose joined our family this year. Shi Lu was born with spinabifida and orphaned immediately after birth. It was the care of a great foster home in Zhengzhou, and donations from many families that got her the surgery she needed and today she's a very healthy little girl. Shi Lu was very fortunate to have been placed in the care of people who worked tirelesly to get her the surgery she very much needed, and we've been unbelievably fortunate to have connected with her. Now, as I make a charge at my 3:15 time needed for the BQ, I'm also raising money to support other orphaned children in China who are in need of the same care that was given to our daughter. Thanks to all of you for contributing! The inspiration of knowing you care and of what the money will do will surely carry me through the race! Frank
My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
The Marine Corp Marathon is an incredible event.
Fund-Raising
Goal: $2000.00
To date: $1675.00
I'm participating on behalf of Jacob. Jacob is a beautiful little boy who was born in August 2008 with a very serious intestinal blockage. He had surgery within a few days and was released to Love Without Boundaries' Heartbridge Pediatric Healing Unit. Jacob has done remarkably well and recently underwent a reconstructive surgery. He is an active and happy boy with a HUGE smile and an easy laugh. Right now his favorite trick is to stand (with a little help from his nanny) and then clap his hands with delight at his accomplishment! Once he has healed, Jacob will be entering LWB foster care.
