Gaylon Corley
Welcome to my website
I have always been active but never really into long distance running. I always thought I like to try taking on the challenge of running a marathon and after attending the MCM last year I knew I wanted to try. I am the proud uncle of two wonderful children adopted from China, one with palate issues. After visiting China and hearing and seeing about the issues faced by children there I can think of no better reason for running this event than by supporting a cause like LWB.
My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year
This event will be the first full marathon I have ran. I witnessed the MCM last year for the first time and decided I would like to complete a marathon. Joining a charity team and running for a cause will serve as motivation for me to train properly and complete the event the best I can.
Fund-Raising
Goal: $750.00
To date: $750.00
I'm participating on behalf of Kaleb. Kaleb was born in February 2009 with significantly clubbed feet. Love Without Boundaries moved him from his orphanage to the Heartbridge Pediatric Healing Unit in May where they are beginning the process of straightening his feet using the Ponseti casting method. With gentle stretching and a succession of castings, Kaleb's feet and legs should look very good by the end of this year. After that, he will enter LWB foster care, where his bracing can be monitored to keep his feet straight, hopefully until an adoptive family steps forward to bring him home. He is such a sweet, tiny boy, we are looking forward to learning about his personality in the months to come.
