Welcome to my website

This will be my second Marine Corps Marathon. After taking a year off, I'm happy to be training again and am excited for the big event in October! I graduated this past May from the University of Virginia and will be finishing training as I start my first year as a special education teacher focusing on music and sensory integration... so the fall should prove to be anything but boring! I have become a supporter of LWB through the Glass family, who have adopted four children from China and help organize this team. The passion they have shown for China has been inspirational and I am so happy to be helping children find wonderful families like theirs.

My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year

The Marine Corp Marathon is an incredible event. It was too thrilling last time to be only a once-in-a-lifetime experience... let's get going!

I'm participating on behalf of Douglas. Douglas entered Love Without Boundaries' Heartbridge Pediatric Healing Unit last October, with an intestinal blockage and an underdeveloped right ear. Douglas has been making slow but steady progress; at eight months old he is just getting around to sitting without support and he is learning to creep along the floor. Sitting in his walker, there is nothing slow about Douglas. He likes to zoom across the room and rattle the napping babies' cribs when he is feeling extra spunky. His nanny will smile fondly as she tells you what a naughty little boy he is. Being a little naughty and spirited is a good sign for a child who had such a rough start in life, so it is really a compliment!
