Welcome to my website

I’m a native Californian but have spent the last 7 years living in different parts of Asia. I’m currently pursuing my masters degree at Columbia University studying international affairs and public policy. In addition, I'm an avid sports fan and love the outdoors. I've run in two half-marathons before and now want to go all the way with the full marathon.

My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year

I'm marathon’ing for the millions of children across the globe that don’t have the running start that I had as a child. I simply can't imagine what my life would be like without the love and care given to me as a child by my parents and family. As a fourth generation Chinese American that has lived on-and-off in China, I intimately understand how fortunate I am to have been brought up in an environment free of worries or health concerns. Throughout my life, I've been supported and blessed with an abundance of opportunity and I want to share it with those who need it most.

I'm participating on behalf of Eileen. Eileen arrived at the Anhui Cleft Healing Home just 10 days after her birth in Xiaoxian in May 2009. Eileen was born with a unilateral cleft lip and cleft palate, which makes it very difficult for her to drink from a regular baby bottle. At Anhui Cleft Healing Home, Eileen will be able to receive her nutrition from a specially made cleft baby bottle that will allow her to gain the weight necessary to receive her life changing cleft lip surgery in a few months. Eileen is described by her nannies as a "honey bee" because of her curly hair that looks like the “antennae” of a bee!
