Caitlin Glass

Welcome to my website

I am a third-year student at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, currently serving as "Vicar" (aka "Intern") at Trinity Lutheran Church in Robesonia, PA. I hope to graduate from seminary in May 2012 with a Master of Divinity degree, and become an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. I am looking forward to supporting LWB and running this marathon with my family (my dad and brother are also running 26.2, an aunt or two will run the 10k, and the little guys will be doing the Fun Run) and friends (I am blessed to be joined by three great friends in the marathon and one great friend in the 10k!) THANK YOU all for joining me in support of this valuable organization!

My motivation to participate with Team LWB this year

This will be my third time running the Marine Corps Marathon with Team LWB. I am running with Team LWB because I believe full-heartedly in their mission to provide hope and healing to some of the world's most vulnerable children. I had the opportunity to visit one of LWB's healing homes in March of 2008, and saw just how fragile and medically-needy these babies are. I also saw the warmth, love, and expertise with which their nannies cared for them, and I want to help more children experience this kind of personal, loving care.

I'm participating on behalf of Garrett. Garret is a 9 month old baby boy who was born with a complicated bilateral cleft lip and palate. His lip is quite thick, and he will need specialized surgical interventions as his first cleft lip repair was unsuccessful. Garret is a lively and smiley little guy who is much adored in LWB’s Anhui Cleft Healing Home where he is living until his cleft lip is repaired.
